Many potential crimes are investigated by law enforcement prior to making an arrest or charge. Having a dedicated and fearless defense attorney ensures the protection of your rights from the very beginning. Don’t wait until an arrest or charge to get started on your criminal defense.
Once formally charged with a crime, the firm will identify the elements of the crime(s) charged, the possible penalties, and what evidence the State of Florida will need to produce in order to prove them.
Upon retainer, the firm will do a thorough analyzation of all evidence produced by the State. This includes scouring police reports and analyzing probable cause affidavits, witness statements, and digital evidence. At this time, the firm will determine whether there are any available motions, such as a Motion to Suppress Evidence or Motion to Dismiss.
During this stage, the firm takes depositions of the State’s witnesses and may acquire defense and/or expert witnesses in order to be fully prepared in the event there is a trial. The attorneys also work closely with highly skilled investigators in order to build the strongest defense possible.
If the police try to talk to you, you have the right to remain silent. You do not need to answer their questions. If they ask for consent to search your property (including your home, vehicle, and/or personal property), you can say “no.”
